Kipling Camp

Mandla, Madhya Pradesh, India

What to know before you go:

— 4 scattered villas each with 2 well-equipped bedrooms, plenty of lounging areas.

About the property:

KIPLING CAMP was established in 1982 on the edge of Kanha National Park by conservationists Bob and Anne Wright. It is now owned and managed by Anne and her daughter, tiger conservationist Belinda Wright. It is one of the finest camps in India and the perfect destination for those who wish to relax in idyllic surroundings and explore the remote forests and villages of Central India. It is also the home of Tara, the much-loved elephant who starred in Mark Shand's best-selling epic Travels on my Elephant. Families are particularly welcome. Kipling is a wonderful place for children to learn about nature and have their first wildlife experience. Although there is plenty to see and do around the Camp, children under five years of age are not permitted inside the National Park. Kipling Camp has 14 comfortable double rooms in cottages scattered among trees. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms. There is also a private cottage with a sitting room and a patio overlooking the Camp’s wildlife waterhole. We serve excellent continental and Indian cuisine and what sets Kipling apart is the care and attention that goes into every little detail.
