About the property:
On a site chosen by Babur, Tijara Fort-Palace is a most magnificent creation of the early 19th century. It was raised by Maharaja Balwant Singh of Alwar. Masons from imperial Delhi and Kabul came to build it. But he died 13 years later before it could be completed. Then the Neemrana people took it upon themselves to make it even more glorious than the original dream. They have shown, against all odds that money is not a substitute for preserverance ! The three palaces Mardana Mahal, Hawa Mahal and the Rani Mahal, stand resplendent, but not overdone, honouring artists , aesthete's and crafts persons of our times – and the cosmos above. The hanging gardens of Tijara cannot be described till one has walked on them under a clear blue sky or one speckled with stars – the ones that twinkled in our childhood. To think paradise lies only 100 kms from Delhi !
