About the property:
Tucked away beside a peaceful river and surrounded by lush tropical greenery near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Mekosha Ayurveda Spasuites is a women-led boutique luxury Ayurveda retreat designed around one simple idea: wellness should be personal. Even the name reflects the retreat's approach. “Me” represents individuality, while “Kosha” refers to the different layers of our being in Sanskrit. At Mekosha, healing extends beyond the physical body to encompass emotional wellbeing, mental clarity and inner balance.
Its wellness philosophy is centred around Shadanga - six pillars of wellbeing: Nourishment, Movement, Rest, Breath, Mind and Spirit. Rather than focusing solely on treatments, the experience brings these elements together through Ayurveda, nourishing food, yoga, meditation, breathwork, movement and time in nature.
The days are intentionally unhurried. Guests can walk along the riverside track, swim, practise yoga or simply rest and reconnect with their body's natural rhythm. There are no televisions across the property, encouraging a genuine digital detox, while a small selection of books and a curated spiritual book from the owner's family offer quieter ways to spend time.
With just 11 luxury Spasuites, Mekosha offers an intimate setting where every guest receives the time, attention and privacy that a larger wellness resort often cannot. From the first consultation to the final day of the stay, each wellness journey is shaped around the individual - their body, lifestyle, health goals and progress. Experienced Ayurvedic physicians create personalised programmes rooted in classical Ayurveda, while flexible therapy schedules allow the programme to evolve with each guest. Treatments take place in a private treatment area within every Spasuite, allowing guests to return straight to their own space to rest and recuperate afterwards.
With a 2:11 doctor-to-guest ratio, personal Ayurvedic consultations, a Senior Doctor overseeing consultations and treatment protocols, and direct access to the owner, the level of care remains deliberately personal. Each of the 600 sq. ft. Spasuites is designed to make longer stays comfortable, with an elegant bedroom, generous storage, a sitting area, private balcony and a dedicated treatment space.
Contemporary interiors keep the rooms comfortable and understated, while upper-floor suites offer views towards the swimming pool and river. A Marshall speaker in each room allows guests to choose their own music during treatments. The result is a space that feels less like a conventional hotel room and more like a private retreat between therapies.
Dining is an important part of the wellness experience. There is no buffet at Mekosha. Meals are freshly prepared in a vegetarian kitchen and served according to each guest's Ayurvedic recommendations. Non-vegetarian meals can be arranged separately and served as room service, while guests who enjoy connecting with others can opt for community dining, creating a more mindful and social mealtime experience.
Mekosha's programmes cater to a wide range of wellness needs, including Panchakarma detox, stress and burnout recovery, weight management, digestive and sleep health, women's wellness, healthy ageing, joint and skin concerns, personalised preventive healthcare and post-cancer care. Movement is also approached mindfully. Exercise is introduced only after consultation with the doctor, with options such as walking, swimming and yoga designed to support recovery without placing unnecessary strain on the body. Every stay includes Ayurvedic doctor consultations, a personalised treatment programme, daily therapies, Ayurvedic meals, yoga, meditation, breathwork, herbal drinks and nature experiences, along with access to the swimming pool and riverside walking track.
The recommended length of stay is 7-21 nights, giving guests the time to settle into a rhythm, allow treatments to progress and experience wellness as a journey rather than a quick escape. At its core, Mekosha isn't about simply stepping away from everyday life. It is about creating the space to slow down, listen to your body and return feeling more like yourself.
Every suite features a private treatment area, an elegant bedroom with ample storage, a comfortable sitting area and a private balcony. Contemporary interiors create a calm, understated setting, while a Marshall speaker lets you choose your own music during treatments. The rates below are starting rates and vary depending on the wellness programme, treatments and length of stay. With different programmes designed around different needs, the final rate depends on what you choose. We recommend staying for at least 7 nights to properly experience the Mekosha approach and settle into the rhythm of the treatments.
