This boutique retreat is situated in Yercaud - a hill station in Tamil Nadu. The word Shambhala refers to a mythical Buddhist land. It is depicted in the ancient texts as a land of joy, peace and enlightenment. The most obvious feature of Shambala is that it lies hidden. It is tranquil haven for coffee lovers to recharge one's mind, body and soul. The guided coffee plantation walks show how coffee is grown, plucked, pulped and proccessed. The resort is nestled amidst a canopy of lush green trees, and in a quaint private plantation - Nachammai Estate, the 24-acre coffee plantation that houses the resort has been lovingly restored for several years, turning it into a fully organic, biodiverse plantation. The estate even has its own pulping machines and a beautiful sun soaked drying yard.  

The resort comprises of 18 rooms - Pepper Way, Orange Lane and Rose Hills with sprawling verandas. The rooms and the common space is a fusion of the contemporary and traditional design. There is a well-curated selection of original art by the Indian artists in the rooms and the common spaces. Within the resort there is a large restaurant, a yoga centre cum conference hall, a fabulous spa, an outdoor sports area and several walking paths around the plantation.

The Fig Tree Place, the bohemian themed coffee shop & multi-cuisine restaurant combines an extensive menu with warm attentive service. It has eye-catching decor and offers delicious Indian & International cuisine. The chef has worked under a Michelin star chef in France. With a lavish offering of salads, starters, main courses and desserts, the most discerning palates will savor more than mere flavor at the Fig Tree Place.
