Once in a while, all of us crave for a getaway that’s all about doing nothing and breathing in the sublime mountain air. A change of scene can work wonders especially when you are stuck in the rut of routine. This boutique house is situated in Yercaud - a hill station in Tamil Nadu. Cartlon House is a a heritage British bungalow established in 1907 by Mr Carl Rham. This is a 115-year-old colonial structure overlooking the lush green mountains and has been weaved together with every aspect of nature by Mr. Mahesh Godya and his family. The Carlton bungalow is spready over 4.5 acres and has an olden day charm with modern amenties and will transport you to a simpler time - this place is perfect for a digital detox. Wake up to the sounds of the birds singing, breathe in the fresh mountain air and bathe in the mild sunshine at our favourite spot on the verandahs - which is also perfect for that morning cuppa curled up with your favourite book. There are over 3,000 birds living around and more than 5,000 species coinciding in the space. It is a dream abode for any art lover.
Carlton House has a retro vintage vibe and they aim to preserve it and thats why they don't have TVs in the room. There are six different entrances to the bungalow and it comprises of nine large family suites two kids rooms and four baths. It’s simply an elegant structure which has arches through the rooms and large attached baths. There are six family suites and 4 vinage suites. With two large living rooms in-between, the hall area is an spacious spot for gatherings. We love the Honeymoon suite aka Swing Suite at the property. It's a kid-friendly mansion and they discover an entire new world that is very different from the concerete city life. With swing sets, gardens and games all around the mansion, this bungalow is the apt place for a family vacay. Get-together around the roaring bonfire and enjoy delicious freshly made local cuisine. Relish scrumptious dishes cooked in traditional Tamil style, which are wholesome because it retains the natural flavours and nutrients. They also take special care in understanding each guest’s tastes. This bungalow is also senior-citizen friendly with a ramp and no stairs. While staying here you can also indulge in treks and trails.The highlight is the aeroplane stream visit. Visit this relic waterfall discovered by an airplane crash during the world war 2 for a lovley serene time. To make your stay even more memorable, you must indulge in recreational activities like basketball, cricket, badminton, carrom, volley ball, darts chess, board games indoor or if you're in a mood for some quiet time, enjoy some 'me-time' at the sunset deck. This property caters to professionals, corporates retreats and is perfect for work from home (WFH) folk.
